ブダペストまたはブダペシュトは、ハンガリーの首都であり、同国最大の都市である 。
「ブダペスト」として一つの市でドナウ川の両岸を占めるようになったのは1873年11月17日に西岸のブダとオーブダ、東岸のペストが合併してからである 。 ( Wikipedia )
